A new Cadillac can be found at your Chicago Escalade dealership: the 2010 Escalade Hybrid. What does the newest luxury SUV have to offer?

Hybrid models can be complex, but the effects on the environment are worth it. And they help with fuel economy, which is a plus for the driver! The 2010 Hybrid works like this. The engine is a 6.0L, v8 that has the ability to shut off four of the cylinders when the SUV is at cruising speed. And the transmission is the same two-mode system used in other GMC trucks. It is a “continuous electric ratio hybrid”.

Some other ways the Hybrid Chicago Escalade Cars work with the environment is by using a braking system that will recharge the battery- pretty clever of those GM engineers, I must say! The battery found in the SUV is 300 volts and is located under the second row seating, so it doesn’t affect cargo or passenger space. Good thing, because the Escalade is able to fit 8 people (7 minus the driver) and you want the guests in your auto to be comfortable!

The battery does a lot to help the SUV run efficiently. It runs the electric AC compressor, system for electric steering, and all other 12-volt parts in the auto. It is made of nickel-metal hydride, something different than the lithium ion batteries found in other hybrid cars at your Chicago Escalade dealership.

Looks wise, the Hybrid model looks like other Escalade models, but that’s alright, because it’s still a great looking luxury SUV with fancy features to go along with it. Inside, there is an 8 inch touchscreen that works as a navigation system and provides an “update” of the two-mode hybrid system. Nice to know what’s going on with your car.

These Chicago Escalade Cars with the hybrid systems are a great buy if you are in the market for something big, but want to feel like you are helping the environment at the same time.

Cadillac turned a lot of heads this year at the Detroit Auto Show. The Chicago Cadillac XTS concept car was on display and it looks like it’s close to production. The XTS will replace the STS and DTS models that are currently in showrooms.

The XTS will be a 2 mode hybrid. It will be built with a 3.6-liter direct-injected V6 engine connected to an electric motor. Staff for the company told show-goers that it’ll be around 350 HP….Awesome, a little more power than other Chicago Cadillac used cars!

Cadillac promises that this car will have a lot of plush-ness you’d expect in a Caddy. The XTS concept in Detroit had an interior that wowed. The term for the interior that is being used is “personal headquarters”. What this means is that the interior is beautifully crafted with high quality materials like birch wood and suede. At the same time, the driver and passengers will have plenty of space for a comfortable ride! In the back seat, there are 2 screens for separate entertainment features and for the driver there is an interactive touchscreen. The Chicago Cadillac XTS is one beauty!

Outward, the Cadillac model has 20 inch wheels (on Platinum XTS) and a long wheel base. The stat listed right now for the total length of the car is around 200 inches. The signature front grill and vertical lights are also found on this sedan. The XTS will most likely be available in two models: a more “traditional” sedan and sportier version. The sporty option may appeal to those Caddy fans who fell in love with the Chicago XLR.

Features found on other Chicago Cadillac used cars will probably make their way into the XTS. Some of these include heated and cooled front and rear seats, lane-departure warning, front and curtain side air bags, and a more than adequate sound system. One feature that may be bigger and better is a “multi-mode electric system”. It will adjust steering, suspension, braking, and throttle, based on driving conditions.

The XTS is set to be ready for sales as a 2013 model. I cannot wait to take a test drive!

After unveiling the new Cadillac Converj Concept vehicle at last year’s North American International Auto Show, the idea of a sporty, electric-hybrid vehicle addition to the Cadillac line-up seemed more of fairy tale. But with the new Chevy Volt already scheduled to make its way to showroom floors late next year, the new revolutionary electric propulsion Voltec technology will see its debut and possibly spark the next generation of GM electric-hybrid vehicles for Chicago Cadillac showrooms, assuming reception goes swimmingly.

According to Business Week however, the Converj Concept was shot down last spring because of internal differences between the reigning higher-ups at GM. Since then the personnel has changed and the idea is gaining traction again. The idea of incorporating this revolutionary Voltec technology into the Cadillac “no compromises” design. The Converj will offer a sporty look similar to that of a Lamborghini while still retaining the signature design features of a Cadillac. An all-glass roof incorporates solar panels that pump some extra juice to the vehicle’s accessories. The vehicle also incorporates sharper vertical headlamp and taillamp components for a noticeably edgier design.

The interior of the vehicle is miles away from the Chicago CTS interior, but still somehow retains the Cadillac look and feel. The blue-lit console graphics give the interior a sleek, updated look that would make any car enthusiast druel. Add in a state-of-the-art touch-screen navigation, climate, center-stack and audio control center and this care will become your second home. But don’t expect the new Converj anytime soon. If (and it’s still an if) the car is approved for production, it won’t make its way to your Chicago Cadillac Dealer until at least 2014. So for now you’ll just have to keep drooling at the pictures and the many promises of the Converj. But a little hype isn’t such a bad thing. Right?
