As we all know, Cadillac has a Hybrid Escalade. It gets better gas mileage than any Escalade before and still comes with all of the amenities that a luxury lover has come to expect. However, as any tree-hugging, environmental loving, hybrid driving enthusiast can tell you, this is not as green as it can get. In order to up their eco-credibility Cadillac is coming out with a hybrid version of the Cadillac SRX.

Though it is not a sure thing yet, rumors should be confirmed by this coming January regarding this new hybrid. Either way, the new SRX crossover will be arriving in showrooms this August. If the hybrid model does come out, it will be sometime in 2011. It will boast impressive direct-injected V6 engines and optional AWD.

The Two-Mode hybrid system used in the Chicago Cadillac Escalade is planned to be used in the new SRX. The hybrid feature was originally expected to be put into the Saturn VUE but was ultimately decided to be given to the SRX. Chicago Cadillac dealers are expecting this new hybrid to achieve up to 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, which are very respectable numbers for a vehicle of its size and class.

And since Cadillac is known for their luxury and class it will also continue to have all of that good stuff as well. So just keep your fingers crossed (I will too, don’t worry) and hopefully we will see the SRX as a hybrid sooner rather than later in our Chicago Cadillac showrooms. Until then, the hybrid Cadillac Escalade is a great start to Cadillacs greener image.

The new 2010 Cadillac SRX is everything a crossover should be, and then some. For those of you who have been waiting for quite some time now for its release, now is your time. This summer you will be able to visit your local Cadillac SRX Chicago dealership to test drive one, as the SRX is set to be released mid-summer.

As a crossover, many drivers (including myself) would expect the new SRX to act more SUV-ish than it really does. Rather, smartly-designed crossover offers the best of both worlds. It rides high, with the stance of an SUV, has the driving capabilities of a car, and features all the luxury you would expect from a Cadillac. So whether you are an SUV devotee or a member of team-car, this year’s model of the SRX will satisfy your driving desires as well as your people- and cargo-space needs.

Equipped with a V6 engine, this 5-passenger crossover has retained all of its Cadillac class and has brought its own modern, bolder attitude to the family. The new SRX has more aggressive lines but still manages to keep the elegance of its predecessors. Cadillac’s attention to the details is, as always, impeccable. With illuminated logos on the doors, a fast design and a pop-up navigation system, it is plain to tell that every part of the 2010 SRX has been well-planned and meticulously crafted.

Thanks to an all-new AWD system, the 2010 SRX will not only look beautiful, it will drive beautifully as well, no matter the road conditions. This new system allows even amounts of torque to be delivered to the back and front tires, creating the best possible handling and grip on the road. It also enhances the safety on this vehicle, by making driving in icy, rainy, or snowy conditions easier to handle.

Not only is this new SRX as luxurious and functional as ever, according to Cadillac SRX Chicago dealers, it’s also as affordable as ever. In the midst of a recession, Cadillac has decided to reward its buyers and drop the price $7,000 dollars from the 2009 model. And through all the troubles GM has been facing, this could be a model priced to help get them back on track.

So keep checking in with your Cadillac dealer in Chicago, because these sleek rides should be popping up any day now, and they are not something to miss.

The all-new 2010 Cadillac SRX

I really fell in love with the design of the Cadillac Provoq concept when I blogged about it recently. I wondered why the company had not applied the very design-forward body to a vehicle currently on the market. Now my questions are answered. The 2010 Cadillac SRX Crossover takes on almost all of the design of the Provoq concept. This really qualifies as a total overhaul of the SRX model. The main design difference between the SRX and the Provoq is the grille, which is more traditional in concept and in line with recent Cadillac design language than the Provoq grille that was designed to open and close according to cooling needs.

I find the design very robust in looks while keeping the look of a tight, organized profile. In the end, this gives a new look to car shoppers in the crossover segment. The lines moving along the sides of the body help the visual concept and lead the eye in a natural way to the angular front of the vehicle. This makes the SRX look very quick and appealing to me.

2010 Cadillac SRX interior

The inside of this vehicle is clean and sleek. It sports great angles and a look very much the same as the Provoq’s interior. The SRX will have a pop-up navigation like the one the Cadillac CTS received and an electronic parking brake activated by a switch on the console. The brake switch adds a nice amount of room in the footwell for added driving comfort, especially during those long trips that require frequent leg adjusting. As someone with long legs, I appreciate the gesture.

I can definitely see myself in this updated version of the SRX. It has a much cooler stance and a more-directed artistic ambiance. Cadillac is going for an artistry in this model that embodies “layers of texture,” which they exemplified by making the Cadillac crest logo on the grille three dimensional. The layer effect overall gives the SRX that coveted illusion of jumping out from road.

The three-dimensional redesigned Cadillac shield logo

The 2010 Cadillac SRX will provide a choice of two V6 engines. The new base engine is a 3.0L version with direct injection, which comes in at 260 horsepower. Buyers looking for greater muscle will opt for the 2.8L V6 with a turbocharger, granting 300 horsepower.

Patrick Cadillac will have a 2010 Cadillac SRX Chicago inventory this summer, when I will inevitibly beg them to let me drive one.
