2010 Cadillac SRX out-styles competitors
The longest-reigning maker of luxury autos in this nation is Cadillac. Plainly, simply, Cadillac makes luxury vehicles for Americans better than anyone, and they’ve done it for decades. So it should come as no surprise that Cadillac has tweaked its SRX to offer the utmost luxury and style in its class. Admittedly, when I took a Chicago SRX test drive last year, I was one of the many that was less than overwhelmed with the SRX design and feel. But I think it’s obvious the redesigned 2010 SRX will put all those feelings to rest.
Here’s a great video from Left Lane News about the re-designed 2010 Cadillac SRX:
Definitely with its new design, I would pick the SRX above the Lexus RX and other competitor models. There is still nothing that really makes a driver feel as special as owning a Cadillac. And with some of the design nods to Cadillac’s roots in the 50s, this is a model sure to entice both the classic and contemporary car buyer. While I haven’t yet been to a Cadillac Chicago dealer to check out the new version, I intend for my Chicago SRX text drive to be much more fun than my past SRX experiences. I might even get a few looks from the ladies in the 2010 model.
Cadillac Converj Concept: Will It Be Produced?
After unveiling the new Cadillac Converj Concept vehicle at last year’s North American International Auto Show, the idea of a sporty, electric-hybrid vehicle addition to the Cadillac line-up seemed more of fairy tale. But with the new Chevy Volt already scheduled to make its way to showroom floors late next year, the new revolutionary electric propulsion Voltec technology will see its debut and possibly spark the next generation of GM electric-hybrid vehicles for Chicago Cadillac showrooms, assuming reception goes swimmingly.
ATS and XTS luxury sedans will be huge additions to Cadillac brand
The ATS and XTS Cadillac sedans promise to be the most exciting thing to happen to Cadillac in decades. The XTS is a full-size sedan that looks almost exactly like the Sixteen Concept everybody got so excited about. Of course, that concept was so named because of its massive V16 engine that probably went from 0-60 in something like -2.9 seconds. Naturally, the XTS that likely will head to Chicago Cadillac dealers will come equipped with the more reasonable, but still highly powerful, next-generation small block V8. Continue Reading…
SRX Hybrid
As we all know, Cadillac has a Hybrid Escalade. It gets better gas mileage than any Escalade before and still comes with all of the amenities that a luxury lover has come to expect. However, as any tree-hugging, environmental loving, hybrid driving enthusiast can tell you, this is not as green as it can get. In order to up their eco-credibility Cadillac is coming out with a hybrid version of the Cadillac SRX.
Though it is not a sure thing yet, rumors should be confirmed by this coming January regarding this new hybrid. Either way, the new SRX crossover will be arriving in showrooms this August. If the hybrid model does come out, it will be sometime in 2011. It will boast impressive direct-injected V6 engines and optional AWD.
The Two-Mode hybrid system used in the Chicago Cadillac Escalade is planned to be used in the new SRX. The hybrid feature was originally expected to be put into the Saturn VUE but was ultimately decided to be given to the SRX. Chicago Cadillac dealers are expecting this new hybrid to achieve up to 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, which are very respectable numbers for a vehicle of its size and class.
And since Cadillac is known for their luxury and class it will also continue to have all of that good stuff as well. So just keep your fingers crossed (I will too, don’t worry) and hopefully we will see the SRX as a hybrid sooner rather than later in our Chicago Cadillac showrooms. Until then, the hybrid Cadillac Escalade is a great start to Cadillacs greener image.
